You have a Landing page that is not getting you sales, you have looked and looked and cannot see anything wrong, its your baby, how can it be wrong. We have all been there; sometimes being too close can be a problem in solving the issue. Here are three simple things to check; often these can be all that is wrong.
1. Make sure that the person landing on your page knows what it is about and what the product is your selling. We have all seen an advert on TV, really clever, but at the end you have to guess what it was actually selling, I normally get it wrong, do you?
2. Keep the site simple, if it is too busy it will distract people from acting on it, most people are surfing the net, so you do not have much time to get their attention and sale. This is especially important near the end, when you ask for their details or ask for their money.
Clever pictures or great flash may look impressive but you just missed your window to sell in.3. Offer the customer more than one option to buy, not just at the end. I have been on really long pages that I got bored, I was interested in the price, might have bought but could not be bothered scrolling down to the bottom to find out. In the same respect make sure there is some information between calls to buy, it is all about balance.
These points are simple but I have been on hundreds of sites over the years where these 3 rules where completely ignored. Even some self-styled marketing gurus have made these mistakes too; I often wondered how many sales they really make. Ultimately a Landing Page is all about one thing converting interest into sales or increasing your mailing list for future sales. When I first stated in sales I was taught KISS, Keep IT Simple Stupid, it is still true over 25 years later.
